~Background~
Highly intelligent for animals, Kitsunemizus are feared by all sailors who know of them. Being the size of your average thoroughbred horse, Kitsunemizus are not big enough to be classed as 'Seakings' but are just as dangerous. With the capability of finding ships' weak points within minutes of encountering one, they strike hard and fast at these points sinking them. Or another method of them fighting, is to board ships and kill the sailors, either by tearing them apart or drowning them in the sea. This particular Kitsunemizu was protecting it's territory when the crew came across it. They were attacked by a small Marine fleet while traveling to another island, during the encounter they went through Mizu's territory where the Marines' stray cannon almost hits it. Infuriated, Mizu attacked the Marine ships sinking each one of them saving the crew in the process. Then Mizu boarded their ship, thinking they were going to be attacked the crew braced for a fight, but to their suprise Mizu helped itself to some of their food and fell asleep on the deck. Too scared to bother it they left it alone and continued to travel, a little while later the crew knew they weren't going to be rid of it so they started calling it 'Mizu'. Becoming attached to the kindness of the crew and the plentiful amount of fights, Mizu stays with them and has done ever since.
~Trivia~
As juveniles, Kitsunemizus' genders are unknown until they mature that's when their markings are fully developed, where the males have stripes on their backs while females have spots on theirs. These markings glow along with the linings of their fins to warn off seakings or they can switch the glow off to sneak up on their prey.
